Job Info –
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring, tracking and reporting data usage for each project and show
- Monitor, track and report render resource usage for each project
- Identifying data for archival and removal and Liaising with technical directors responsible for data removal
- Balance multiple shows render resource needs within the Company’s physical capacity
- Tracking and reporting trends in disk usage
- Identify render errors and fix/escalate to the relevant department
- Bringing data online from a variety of external sources
- Liaise with TDs regarding possible render optimisation
- Post-show clean up and final archiving
- Assist with out of hours data operations requests
- Monitor disk/data usage out of hours to ensure availability of disk resources
- Restoring data from previous projects
Skills required:
- Excellent communication skills
- A minimum of 2 years experience in data ops/ rendering/ systems / pipeline in a VFX/ CG Studio
- Experience with Maya, Renderman, Nuke and/or Houdini
- A familiarity with Linux
- A basic understanding of visual effects and computer graphics concepts and terminology
